Sublette Fall Festival

Last night was the 3rd Annual Sublette Fall Festival. The businesses on Main Street stay open and have goodies and raffles and freebies. There are vendor tables in the American Legion hall, hayrack rides, barrel train rides for kids and even horse-drawn carriage rides, for those who want to wait in line - all free. The bank provides grilled brats and there is a TON of snacks around town at all the businesses.

The sublette chamber of commerce has recently become active again after a long hiatus, and it showed. The Fall Festival was awesome - totally exceeded my expectations!

The Nitelites had a bake sale table in the Legion to benefit the local food bank. We each brought 2 items to sell (I brought peanut clusters) and we made over $500. Not bad.

Marc and I both won a prize. Marc - a gift certificate to the grocery store. And me - a gift certificate to the bar. Ha! We've never been but we hear they have good food! We'll have to head over there for lunch some day. (See, their plan is working. We are keeping our money and business local and trying something new!)

Voth Crop Consulting contributed a gift certificate to the grocery store for the raffle. Anything to support the community...at least that's MY opinion!

These pictures don't do it justice, but there were a ton of people!

The hayride is getting ready to take off on the left side of the street in the picture above. It was pulled by a tractor and had TWO trailers of hay bale seats.

Michael and Voth Carpentry participated. Here we are in his shop/show room.

(Notice that all eyes are on Cole. That happens to him a lot!)

Shirley made homemade cookies for Michael and he had a raffle for a gift certificate to the lumber yard in town. Everyone was coming in because they knew how good her cookies were.

What a fun night. It was fun to see everyone come out for a fun evening. It was fun to see the support of the businesses and the chamber. It was fun to show Cole off. And, of course, one of my most favorite things, being out in sublette with Marc.

Let's do it again tonight!

  2. You love Sublette! Your love for Sublette enhances my love for it!

I liked seeing the inside of Michael's shop. Pretty nice. And look at all the cars parked on the street! Hope someone took a picture of that liveliness for future marketing!
