Cole Lately

We had some super nice days too. Here we are at the park. Cole and Trigger gathered pinecones to build a campfire.

Cole feeding General. He's getting better and better...

Who needs a sandbox when you have a back alley? (Just kidding! I hope we get a sandbox!)

Cole and General waiting for Marc to come in from work. General may have alterior motives.

This and That from Georgann

ELSY AT THE PARK
One day last week Charlotte and Cindy watched Elsy in the morning and I took her for the afternoon. While waiting to meet Grandpa Dave for lunch, we stopped by the park.  Elmo came along too.

GUEST ROOM CURTAINS
I've been looking for some lighter colored curtains for the front room.  The wall color is called gray but looks greenish.  The curtains are a teal blue and ivory.  I like bringing another color into the room. They were only $20 at Home Goods.  What do you think?  Oh yeah, if I decide to keep them, I'll need to get a new curtain rod for the grommeted curtains.

I WISH IT HAD WORKED
I saw an idea where you paint chalkboard paint on wine glasses then use chalk to write names on them.  I thought it would be fun to do it on our family reusable plastic cups.  My main concern was that the chalk would smear off but people told me "nah, it won't."  But that wasn't my biggest problem - although the chalk did smear (see the "e" in Dave).

My biggest problem was that the chalk scratched the paint off when I wrote my name on the cup with the chalk (see the "Brad" cup).  Oh well.  The paint cost $1.50 so it was worth a try.

BTW the paint instructions said it adheres to most porous surfaces.  Are plastic cups porous??

6-NIGHT VISIT

From Georgann

6-NIGHT VISIT
Dana, Marc and Cole visited us from a Friday to a Thursday.  That is an unheard of TREAT!  And we loved every moment of it.

Building Lego towers, waving to Grandma

Happy face after dinner - cookies do that to you.  Just ask Grandpa!

Fun times with family - cousins and uncles pictured here!

How quickly they learn where the cookie jar is and how quickly we say "Yes!"

While they were here, we all ate lunch at Gramsy's.  Dana wrote "Gma time!!" in the Reason for Visit column in the visitors log.  I thought that was great!

Elsy "chews" gum? By Cindy

Since Julie and I both had a day off I met them at the Great mall (which is no longer great) it was spooky how few people were there.

Elsy played on a cute playground and seemed to enjoy herself.

There was a part that looked like a camp fire. She would act like she was touching it and warn you it was hot. She has an imagination that doesn't stop. I pretended to splash water on her and she ran to her mom to get a towel.

We were eating at Chili's and Julie took her to the bathroom. When she got back there was no candy, she hates the noise in public restrooms and that was suppose to be her reward. Julie gave Elsy her first small piece of gum, and told her not to swallow it....well!!!
You can see she was showing me where her gum was!!

Lovely weather!!

How could we resist the nice weather yesterday?! We finally got our leaves bagged up and Elsy loved it! She just kept saying "I'm so excited!" (And yes, those are her slippers. Why not, right?)
A couple months ago, a package with a disc inside was dropped off by our door step. I went to pick it up and it fell between the house and the deck! I thought it was gone for sure but Anthony actually crawled through there yesterday to get it and was successful!

Day date!

A couple weekends ago, I surprised Anthony with a day date. I told him the night before that I had the day planned but he didn't know what we were doing. We took Elsy over to the Puryear's house and were on our way!
Our first stop was the Quiktrip by his parent's house to get some coffee. Nothing too exciting but it played into our next stop. We got back in the car and I drove around the parking lot and then parked. He was a little confused and started walking back towards QT! Little did he know, he was getting ready to experience his first pedicure! (The nail place happened to be in the same parking lot as QT).
As you can see in the picture, there were actually TWO other guys there! Anthony said he liked it! They teased him and asked him if he wanted the same pink color as me :) He said his favorite part was the massage chair!
For our next stop, Anthony kept asking if it was time critical. When I said yes, he was thinking I had actually made lunch reservations somewhere! Haha. Little did he know, we were meeting these lovely kids for lunch!
Abby's friend Josh had recommended this place - "The Mixx". I really enjoyed it! The highlight (for the boys) was seeing the Chiefs head coac lh there. Brad even got a belly tap from him as he left and he said "Take care man". Haha.
After this, I planned for Anthony to go with Josh and some of his friends and play disc golf the rest of the afternoon! Which in turn meant that I could hang out with Abby all afternoon! I had so much fun with her - shopping, coffee shop, going for a walk.
So all in all, it was really a day planned for both of us rather than just geared toward Anthony :) But it was a fun day spent with fun people!!

Babysitting Play date

From dana:

This morning we babysat for Davney and Trigger while their parents went to the dentist. Cole had a blast with the older kids and they did so well with him.

Trigger had to move his blocks to the table after Cole kept knocking his towers down, which Trigger handled very well.

We ventured over to Tiffany's house to play with her kids (and let Marc get some work done). Cole LOVED the sandbox! So much so that I'm wondering if that's a need for our backyard sometime in the near future.

Cole's Hat

Check out Cole's FITTED hat from Gramsy when he was a baby. He was rockin it today in the yard before we went to a birthday party.

Cole's Step Stool

Cole LOVES his new step stool from Brad and Kathryn. LOVES it! He loves standing on it, sitting on it, hiding things inside it and subsequently pulling things out of it (only to put them back in again). We have washed hands and brushed teeth and played in the water lots of times.

This is a common scene in our house these days.

Cole sitting sideways on the bottom step inviting me to sit on the toilet and receive all the goodies he pulls out of the stool (a hidden comportment - what a great addition, Brad!). And I love to oblige.

Here he is seeing himself on the screen to take the picture. Ha!

Thanks for all the joy and entertainment and practical needs met, Brad and Kathryn!

Elsy Keeps me Happy! By Cindy

I get a great deal of joy having Elsy at the house.
Thursday we went to the library, she loves it. I had to bribe her to get her to leave to eat lunch.

Today we had her for the morning since the babysitter was sick. She was busy making snow angels on the carpet and kept encouraging me to make them too.
I did get down and make one!

Indoor activities of Winter by Cindy

Puzzles are good for not going outside, and something to do in the winter! Erica had come twice to eat and work on the puzzle with us. She loved it.

Cory isn't a puzzler, but he sat with us as we finished it! He was playing a game on his phone.

The three of us were determined to finish it by 9:15 and we did!

You know you are leaving Grandpa Ellis's house when you have an oreo cookie face at 9:00 AM.

Cute Cole

Did you see this picture of Cole Cameron took at the Burrichter Christmas? I love it!

I won't be taking pictures with a real camera anytime soon, but boy are they better! Thanks for sharing (and taking), Cameron!

Visiting Gramsy

Today we visited Gramsy at Tallgrass. We walked from her apartment to the Bistro for an early lunch and met mom and dad. Cole had a blast toddling/running down the hallway.

Marc suggested that Cole hold on to Gma's walker and help her down the hall. Cole was happy to oblige and took the task very seriously.

At the end of the hallway Dad was waiting for us. Cole ran to him with open arms, warming Dad's heart, my heart and all the staff ladies watching him.

We heard a lot of "he's so cute" "look at those beautiful eyes" "looks like he keeps you busy".

I'm glad we got to go to Tallgrass to visit Gma before we left for home. Thanks, Gma!
