Julie and Elsy Visit

Julie put lots of fun pics on Facebook of their visit. It was great. Absolutely wonderful! Here are a few pictures she didn't have.

Julie was the cool mom who bought food for the fish at the zoo. The kids had fun throwing it in!

Snow cone outing

I texted Julie today with all the new mom things I implemented after being around her. There's just nothing like a sister!

Step Stool

Brad made Cole this cool step stool, at my request. He uses it all the time and I've been trying to get a good picture to post on Brad's page, but this is all I got.

I'll keep trying. Maybe he'll get one himself - since he and Kathryn are due here ANY MINUTE!!!

Gotcha Day

This is tomorrow!

Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

Cole made the local paper! Story time at the library.

You can see him in the bottom picture...sitting in his stroller. The ONLY kid in a stroller. Poor guy. This was his mama's way of trying to get him to stay still - after having a less than stellar showing the time before - this, and saving his snack for him to eat while he listens.

Elsy and Julie in Sublette!

Elsy and Julie have arrived and we couldn't be more excited! Cole's been talking about Elsy non-stop.

First stop: Bill Lower's farm to see the animals.

City girl meets country life

The goats!

Elsy was taken by all the small tadpole-ish frogs jumping around. There were tons of them and she couldn't get enough.

The pigs! Stay back they might bite your hand!

The horses!

The "corn jungle" as Elsy called it

Our weekend is off to a good start! So glad to have them here!

Flower Girl by Aunt Cindy

I got a text from Sue asking if I had Elsy could I measure her for a dress. I remembered Sara had brought a dress for her and it was still at our house. When Elsy got up from her nap I had to beg her to try it on. She finally gave in.

It fit really well and she decided she loved it!! She wouldn't take it off. I texted Julie and told her to expect her to still be in it at bed time.

Finally she wanted to go outside so she decided to change, BUT she wanted to dress herself. She didn't do too bad, I just had to turn her shorts around. She does make life interesting.

Tromping in the Gutter

Tromping in the gutter!

Scooping Mud

What mama and son do the morning after a big rain when daddy had his muddy truck in the driveway - scoop the run-off mud into the trash can. Ugh!

(Sunday evening we had a surprise storm that gave us nearly 2 inches of rain in a short time. The streets were flooded in places and Marc's pickup was washed clean from all the mud from the previous rain. Marc sure has been having to fight the muddy roads and fields.)

Zoo Trip

Today we planned a trip to the Garden City zoo with some friends. We had a great time!

Here Cole is dressed and ready in his new zoo shirt from Mary and Janet. Super cute!

Looking at the elephants... (Check out our stroller brigade.)

Ending our time at the zoo park with a picnic and playing.

2nd Haircut

Cole had his second haircut yesterday. This was his first time in a real salon with a robe and all.

He did great! He was a little apprehensive and got a little restless at the end but sat pretty well for the most part.

All ready and dapper for Cory and Erica's wedding!

Turtle

The other day Cole found a turtle in the road when we were riding his "bike". We decided to take it safely to the grass across the street. (I know. I know. If I was a good mom I would've taken it home and found it a box and fed it and taught Cole a life lesson in animal care - but I wasn't that ambitious.)

Cole noticed that the turtle pulled in its head and legs when it was scared. Here's Cole mimicking him.

Later, he would crawl on his hands and knees like the turtle when talking about our experience. Ha! So cute.

He is at a really fun age!  Maybe one of my favorites.
