My asparagus patch is going crazy! (Or was, before we got 3 inches of snow and freezing temps this week. I haven't gotten to check it out since.) I learned from a local Master Gardener that I should cut off every spear until...Memorial Day, maybe? So, I've been diligent to do just that. And every day it seems we have new spears to harvest!
Do you know you can eat raw asparagus? I learned that when I was subbing at Copeland last year and raw asparagus was the provided snack. It's delicious. It's hard to get a big enough batch of asparagus to roast for a side dish for supper, so we often just eat it right out of the garden.
