Winter Exercise

A few weeks ago Micah and Whitney made a plan for us to exercise WITH our kids DURING the freezing cold winter. Sounded great to me, in theory (even though I was a little skeptical)!

And it's worked out great! We are doing T-25, which is a 25 minute workout video. We meet up at the rec center gym, which is open to the public, around 9:30. And we play it on a laptop we bring in, get the kids set up with their snacks and basketballs and little riding toys and then we get to work.

25 minutes is the perfect amount of time. The kids play and run around and scream and eat their snacks for the majority of the time, but near the end they start getting a little needy and clingy and coming over for some attention. 

All three of us are really good at being ok with the distractions of the kids and keeping an eye on them for each other. And the workout is really good and challenging - and only 25 minutes! And it is a wonderful reason to get out of the house. Al and Shirley have gotten a rec membership, so they are often there at the same time in the workout room, which is fun for Cole to see them.
